Diversity Awareness and Management

 

Diversity basically means “difference” or “variety.”  So the term diverse workforce refers to a workforce where the workers possess and bring a variety of different characteristics. By becoming aware of today’s diversity and its impact on you as a leader, manager, or colleague you can learn effective ways of dealing with prospective conflicting issues appropriately. 

 

This course is not only designed to help you become aware of some of the major changes in today’s workforce, but also to give you some of the skills needed to maximize productivity and gain a competitive advantage.

 

Workshop objectives:

By completing this course, you will have the foundation to:

  • Properly define and discuss diversity;

  • Discuss the history and evolution of diversity movement during the past five decades;

  • Understand and value differences;

  • Recognize biases and behaviors that hinder productivity,

  • Work effectively with a diverse workforce, all races, nationalities, cultures, disabilities, ages and sexes;

  • Hire and develop people with a diversity of cultural and demographic backgrounds;

  • Create a work environment where all individuals can contribute; and

  • Become a “TRUE” diversity champion that is able to work effectively in the context of cultural differences.

 

What will be covered?

By completing this course, you will have the foundation to:

  • Understand and value differences,

  • Recognize biases and behaviors that hinder productivity,

  • Effectively work with a diverse workforce,

  • Create a work environment where all individuals can contribute, and

  • Become a “TRUE” manager that is able to work effectively in the context of cultural differences.

 

This program format is designed as a seminar / workshop for working managers and employees. It is designed to be interactive so participants can learn and compare best practices from one another as well as from the program facilitator(s).

 

Keep in mind that these workshops can be customized as per the needs of managers, entrepreneurs and employees and the available resources of the organization requesting it. Any of the workshops can be offered in half day, one day and several day formats. This session is a full-day workshop.

Workshop Fee:

If you want to hold this session at your location or site for your managers and employees, then group discounts can be discussed depending on the number of employees and workshops needed. In general, the fee for this one-day workshop is $199.00 per participant. For discounts on multiple participants attending from the same organization, please contact us about your needs and goals.

 

All registered attendees will receive a participant workbook and a copy of the book entitled “Workforce Diversity Management,” published in 2007 by Llumina Press. All participants must register in advance. Payment is due at the time of registration. Registration fees are non-refundable.
